Le temps des fleurs

"Le temps des fleurs" was a semester project led by Calypso Mahieu at ECAL, exploring nostalgia as a sensory and emotional landscape, with smell as its central thread. The work focuses on the distinctive scents of the University of Lausanne's buildings and its library — that particular mix of old paper, dust, and silence that becomes inseparable from the experience of studying. Through portraits, still life, and architectural photography, the project evokes the solitary, introspective nature of academic life and the quiet toll it can take on certain students.
